THE GREAT HOSANA KITENGE PLAYS UP 2 AGE GROUPS FOR GB
Basketball U18 star Hosana Kitenge demonstrates his extreme passion and talent for the game as he enters the European Championships with Great Britain Under 20’s – a ‘2 age group’ leap.
He joined the group as they opened training camp at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester at the end of last month.
The group left the UK for Italy on July1st for a 3-game tournament. Playing strong games against Montenegro, Italy and Poland, Kitenge scored an impressive total of 21 baskets across all 3 games.
Basketball lovers are advised to keep their eyes firmly on this great player who will be a key member of the group as they leave the UK for Israel on Thursday of this week. They will take on Turkey at the opening of the tournament on Saturday before going on to play France and Montenegro.
In May, this top young basketball prospect returned to the Hoopfix All Star Classic to feature in the Class of 2019 game as a GB Under18.
The games can’t come along fast enough for this rising sports star who, standing tall at 6’7″ is utterly devoted to the game and has announced his commitment to NCAA Division 1 School Coastal Carolina Chanticleers for the coming season. Kitenge said “I can’t wait to get to Myrtle Beach”
One man in particular who has been delighted to watch the ‘rise of Hosana Kitenge’ is Bob Holt OBE. As Founder of The Holt Trust he said “It has been a pleasure to sponsor this dedicated young man. This is exactly what the Trust is all about. As a charity, we provide grants to young people under the age of 25 to help them to achieve their full sporting potential.”
