BOB HOLT OBE – HOW BUSINESS CAN SURVIVE CRISIS

With CNBC announcing that nearly 25 million jobs could be lost globally due to the coronavirus, businesses are naturally looking to learn how to cope.

Bob Holt, who has led businesses, across the UK, out of crisis situations whilst growing his own to great heights, is currently undertaking a number of leadership discussions with both start up and mature businesses. Right now, more than ever before, it is vital that businesses across the globe appreciate the importance of team management and leadership.

Bob’s experience and position as chairman of two public companies has resulted in him having huge success in driving down costs and managing crisis. Via his many chairmanships and directorships, he has led some of the most important businesses to unprecedented positions.

Earlier this month, following the encouragement from others for Bob to share his knowledge and expertise,  he led the discussion on leadership and risk management in a relaxed setting at an event in central London.  As this took place amidst the global panic and chaos as coronavirus gripped just about everyone, it was a time for business owners to take on board the importance of leading their teams and businesses back into a healthy state of growth.

Bob spoke of his own growth and how he built the hugely successful business Mears Group PLC from just 100 people to 14,000 employees.  He talked about how his vision of himself was very much more a ‘builder of teams’ than that of an entrepreneur.

Bob went on to talk about his position as chairman of a company which serves the NHS and how it is current and relevant in this crisis.

Remaining confident and hopeful that businesses will find ways to recover from this ordeal, he said

“It is crucial for business owners to start acting now. I am very enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and experience on how, with the right level of leadership and trust, industries can avoid some of the losses that are currently being predicted.”
